This classic cream-filled pastry is topped with a light dusting of powdered sugar making it a perfect dessert for holidays, weddings, baby showers or other occasions. When I was little, I always requested these for my birthday treat!

For The Buttercream Filling – solid vegetable shortening or butter flavored Crisco – unsalted butter, softened – sifted powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar) – vanilla extract or paste – milk or heavy cream – Pinch of salt (optional) For The Cream Horns – Frozen Puff Pastry Sheet

Prepare the puff pastry

Wrap the puff pastry to create the “cone”

Prepare the buttercream filling

Fill the horns with cream
