This easy sugar cookie recipe comes with a twist – a Hershey’s Kiss stuffed right inside!
While making my annual batch of sugar cookies for Christmas, I wanted to do something a bit different.
As I looked around my kitchen, I spotted my candy dish full of Hershey’s Kisses. Why not add a chocolate surprise? And at that moment, this Sugar Cookies With A Kiss recipe was born.
I don’t always have time to make my cookies from scratch. I’m a big fan of using cake and cookie mixes to speed up my baking time.
I have always loved Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix. The end result is a delicious, soft sugar cookie.
Paired with their Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting…yum! There is nothing wrong with getting some help from Betty Crocker.

How To Make Sugar Cookies With a Kiss
As I mentioned above, this recipe is super easy. And be sure to check out some of my tips and tricks below.
Step 1:
Follow step 1 on the back of the Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix bag for drop cookies. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir cookie mix, softened butter and one egg in medium bowl until soft dough forms.
Step 2:
Once you have a soft dough, scoop out 1 tbsp of dough and flatten it on your cookie sheet until it forms a circle.
Step 3:
Remove the foil from a Hershey’s Kiss and place the Kiss directly in the center of your flattened dough.
Bring the dough together around the Hershey’s Kiss and pinch the dough together around the top of it. The Hershey’s Kiss should be completely wrapped in the dough.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your cookie sheet is full. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on your cookie sheet.
Step 5:
Place cookie sheet in preheated oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are slightly golden brown around the edges.
Step 6:
Remove from oven. Let cookies cool completely before removing them from the cookie sheet with a spatula.
Step 7:
Spread your favorite frosting on each cookie. Add sprinkles and/or decorations for any occasion.
Tips For Making The Perfect Sugar Cookie
Here are a few tips that you may find helpful.
-Be sure to use softened butter when preparing your dough. If you don’t have time to wait for it to soften, throw your stick of butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.
-I like my sugar cookies soft so I keep an eye on them while they are in the oven. Take them out as soon as you start noticing slightly golden brown edges. Otherwise, they may end up too chewy and burnt on the bottom.
-Let the cookies cool for at least 20 minutes before you attempt to remove them from your cookie sheet with a spatula. If they are not completely cool, they may fall apart while you are trying to remove them.
