Directions To Make Cinnamon Toast Crunch Donuts

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease the donut pan and set aside while you make the donut batter.
  2. In a large bowl, add 1 cup of the crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the buttermilk. Stir to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder.
  4. Lightly whisk the egg, then add it to the bowl with the cereal and buttermilk in it. Also, add the oil, maple syrup, vanilla, greek yogurt, brown sugar and melted butter to the bowl. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  5. Next, gradually add the flour mixture to the buttermilk mixture and stir until combined.
  6. Grab your prepared donut pan and fill each spot about 3/4 of the way full. To ensure an even fill, you might find it helpful to use a piping bag to add the batter.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the tops of the donuts spring back slightly when touched.
  8. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 15-20 minutes.
  9. While the donuts are cooling, mix together all the ingredients for the glaze, except the cereal. Stir until the icing is smooth with no lumps. It’s best to gradually add the milk until you reach your desired consistency and
  10. Carefully remove the donuts from the pan. Dip the top of each donut in the glaze and place them on a baking sheet or parchment paper.
  11. While the glaze is still wet, sprinkle some Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top. I like to leave a few whole pieces of cereal and add some crushed cereal too.

Tips For The Best Cinnamon Toast Donuts

  • Use fresh Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal.
  • For less mess, crush your cereal in a Ziplock bag.
  • Bring the egg, butter, and buttermilk to room temperature.
  • Don’t overmix the batter as it can result in a tougher texture.
  • Before baking, gently tap your filled donut pan on the counter to release air bubbles.
  • Add the cereal topping right while the glaze is still wet.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
